Tour of the Snowy

Date
19.03.2024 - 23.03.2024

Description

Following the deferral of the Great Southern Reliability Trial, the Historic Racing Club of NSW/ACT has extended the Tour of the Snowy to 5 days and included a run to Lakes Entrance in Victoria. We will take the opportunity to explore some of the magic mountain country in the eastern half of that state.

We will be visiting all the reservoirs and roads possible in the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric scheme. A couple of roads only recently re-
opened and many closed during the winter months.

We will start at Yass on Tuesday the 19th and will then overnight at Cooma (twice), Lakes Entrance and Tumut (twice) where we will finish
with an windup dinner on the Saturday evening.

The route is approximately 2200 km with the full tarmac option and an option with about one third gravel.

The option will also be there for cars to participate for any number of days that they choose if the full 5 days doesn’t suit.

Dave Johnson will be the Tour Organiser and with the 2 days extension into Victoria now included, Ian Richards has thrown his weight behind the Tour of the Snowy to show us the best of Victorian roads and scenery available.

Full details available shortly.
